2.5 Update: Should I start from scrap?

So, after seing that Kagains quest doesn't work, I'm thinking that maybe, with a game that has been started just after the patch, the fixes might not apply (Ej: Branwen and Kivans new dialogues). Is this so? Will they apply when I get to each point or will it only happen if I start a new game after the update is installed?

    I would personally start a new game. There were some engine changes and a lot fo scripting under the hood. Some things won't work right in a save from before the update.

    Awww man I finally made it to Baldur's Gate don't tell me Im gonna have to start over now??? I might just finish it with 2.3 then and move on to the next one with the party Ive already built up.
