Cows in Amkethran

in Baldur's Gate II: Enhanced Edition
In Amkethran there is a cowherder with three cows. You can talk you them and they will make cow noises.

Makes me wonder.

Can it really be true that this is not somehow connected with a secret cow level? I find it hard to believe.

    The cows are more than meet's the eye... if you keep clicking them, eventually they say "ouch... I mean mooo" :D
