Daxus in Neera's quest keeps dissapearing

I told him to stay put, went outside, killed the red wizards, went back into the inn...and he was gone. Missing.
Tried bringing him outside and he vanished too, but no corpse and no death message. When I talk to Hayes, i can only say that he died even though he didnt.
What gives?
Edit : Had to reload several times but this time Daxus didnt dissapear.
