Looking for a PW? ... keep this in mind please ...

I see many post on " looking for a good PW", or please recommend a PW ...
Things to keep in mind are:
1- What KIND of PW are you searching for? Action PWs seem easy to find , if you are in it for videogamey style, mindless combat, and loot till you drop play.
RP PWs ... this is where it gets ... a bit harder. A PW has to appeal to you in someway. Some "RP PWs" out there, are hard canon lore/rules , which limit creativity and flexibility. Some " RP PWs, are nothing more than strict low tier, low xp gains, and offer first level magic items for epic level characters ... the " RP part" is only a "description" to justify forcing you to party and grind up levels. Some are simply MMOs ... while people do RP in them, they are designed for high population ... only reason they thrive is because , it's easy to get in and have a population that draws other players. If the population was not there, I doubt random new players would even try them.
These MMOs tend to combine the worst elements of the described above , and "hide it" behind a fascade of clever scripts and systems in place, where it seems nicer on the surface than it really is.
2- Instead of looking for a high populated server ... CREATE YOUR OWN COMMUNITY on one!!! On NWN:EE , there are many "empty" PWs. I will agree, many are empty for a reason , but there are some good ones , great ones even in there, that have no population at all.
Get your buddies, and go plundering in a few ... see if any "fit". If not, you can always go back to the comfort zone, of a higher populated PW. BUT, ... just so ya know ... no server will ever gain players, or any kind of "population" , if no one ever tries to get players to them!!!
Just some tips/advice to those seeking a place to play.
Population doesn't always = quality.
Keep in mind your style, there's always something that will fit, and if not create one.
Role-Play doesn't mean you need to be a typing expert, or a professional actor ... it's simply getting in character, and immersing yourself inside your own "story". very simple. Not everyone will win an award for best performance ... and do not think you must compete with those that strive for that.
So don't be scared to RP, or try it ... , thats what DnD , and NWN were made for ...
