I'd say go for a good strong melee fighter. Maybe a barbarian? Just to mix it up...

Dont forget you will have to kill khalid and dynaheir for that setup to work.

When you have a party that can do everything already, a bard is the way to go. :)

    Well, let's see:

    Thief/Mage, Ranger, Druid/Fighter, Cleric, Wizard.

I would suggest: Bard, Paladin, or Monk.

You have two tanks, but a third wouldn't hurt. Especially one with a holy sword. (Paladin)

You have all the roles covered well by NPCs, so a Bard would round the party out. It would also let Imoen be Party thief while only maxing out Traps and Locks since the bard can pick pockets. Bards also add quite a bit of spell casting and raw combat ability.

Monk is a class that should be getting a lot of new life, and it fills a kind of hand to hand version of a glass cannon that would be interesting.

Your party is not very good at ranged, and u have melee taken care of with Minsc/Jaheira. Go elven archer imo.

If you want to maintain a bit of flexibility, albeit at some expense, you can recruit the pair into your party, kill the one you want to keep, boot the one you don't, then rez the one you want.

So you grab khalid and jaheira, kill jaheira, boot khalid, rez jaheira. No problems maintaining the party, and if you later need to switch it up, Khalid is still there.

This typically isn't necessary, but it can be useful, if for example you want to tweak your party down the road. I do this particularly when doing no-reload runs, as NPCs tend to get chunked with alarming regularity.

is Imoen a thief/mage in this game not just a thief ? Monk would be fun but arent they bad at the low lvl that we will have access to in BG1 ? Also thank for all of the answers

Atm im thining Monk Ranged fighter or Paladin

Imoen usually gets Dual Classed to a Mage. The less thief skill she needs the earlier she can become a mage. Level 6 is typical after maxing out her open locks and disarm traps. If you're taking a different thief you can do it as early as level two.

Really pretty much anything you want, as that class seems to be pretty diverse. Bard or Skald are good ideas, I think. Good luck.

She is a pure thief, but may still be dualed to mage if you like. In classic BG1, she could actually be dualed to a specialist mage, but one will not be able to do so in the ee. If you want another melee character, I'd suggest a fighter, berserker kit. Berserk is incredible. Tons of immunities (though not against petrification), bonus HP, AC, To Hit and Damage. No real downside, just can't specialize in dedicated ranged weapons.

Pack in enough stats to dual to something in BG2 to maintain flexibility if you want to play as human, or just go for one of the better melee races (Dwarf, Half-orc). Personally, I like to keep a dual class open, especially since after 13 you've gotten most everything out of a fighter but HLAs.

This assumes you may play this char beyond bg1.

Yeah i will play this party in BG2 thats why i want to use only toons that live in the next game. Did this with modded BG once before but only got a little bit in to BG2 before i had pc problems and lost my game.
