Wyvern Debacle: How to fix a modded polymorph spell?

A few months ago I worked on a project to create a wyvern sorceror with resistance akin to the ones in BGEE but modeled after the dragons of BG2EE in terms of theme. I gave it a few interesting but appropriate abilities being the ability to spit fire...

Problems are whenever I cast a custom polymorph spell the character initially takes one palette profile that corresponds with the character image customly edited...
then after returning back to wyvern and changing back it takes on a completely different profile. Note how the staff color changes. I'd like that staff palette to be with the 1st polymorhed form.
That and usually when a character polymorphs into something like say a spider when polymorphing back to human the spider hand weapon disappears. When reverting back to wyvern the character oddly retains the staff and robes of it's mage form counterpart and these items duplicate everytime the reversion spell is cast.
Any suggestions on how to resolve these would be greatly appreciated.
