NPC's Take Turns Mod? Or Mod Idea?

Question: Is there a mod that exists that takes NPC's away for a while on some random quest that allows me to bring in another NPC without having to roleplay why I just dumped them at the Copper Coronet? I know we have Jaheira built into the game, same with Imoen. But was wondering if there was a mod that has quests for the characters to do that make sense within the game for a period of time.

Challenge for any modder!

Make a mod that has NPC's leave for a bit on some quest that fits within the narrative of the story. This could be expanded for other modder created NPC's in the future.
