Hello, and also: Werewolves.

Good morning everyone. I just picked up my copy and it's happily downloading in the background as I hunker over my cup of coffee and keyboard. Honestly, it feels like it's Christmas morning: I would like to unwrap the shiny presents now, please? :)

Anyway, I've been thinking about what class and kit to plumb for once it's all up and running, and whilst I'll probably go for a swashbuckler I'd be very, very tempted to roll up a shapeshifter druid because quite frankly turning into a werewolf and tearing Sarevok in half sounds like a riot. Which is a shame because the last time I checked the kit was horribly broken and many of the listed abilities and perks either didn't work or were simply not implimented (+3 claws at Greater Form, for example); have these been addressed as part of the clean-up?

My apologies if this has already been discussed, btw. And thanks in advance for your comments :)

The kit is unchanged afaik, but there's for instance a component in the BG2 Tweaks mod (http://www.gibberlings3.net/bg2tweaks/index.php) that improves shapeshifting - should be ready to use at launch.

And hello, welcome to the forum.

Hasn't been addressed. It may be addressed in post release patch so frankly I'd wait until you receive word in an update about it. That or check back here regularly.

Or listen to @Shin. That is good too.

Thanks for getting back on that. I've tried the mod for the kit and it was...interesting. You equip his form like a weapon, iirc, which is fine, but the abilities it gave him were crazy. I'm pretty sure you could still cast spells in Form, which was op by my standards. But thanks for digging that up Shin.

    800MB to go. GiddyUP, Internet!

Yeah, that is true. It was balanced around the (severely) difficulty-increasing Tactics mod, so it could well be a bit too much vs vanilla difficulty.

I'm still planning on playing one for a multiplayer group being organised for mid-late december, but as it stands now I'm not expecting to be doing much more than healing, buffs, a few debuffs, mage attacking spells (insect summons/plague) and summoning. More likely healing/summoning. My level of badassery may be somewhat restricted.

Insect Plague is Badassery writ large.
"Hello, Wizard. I would like to see you try and cast a spell whilst being ferociously nibbled to death. GO!"
It won me countless fights in BG2. Love it.

Yea but you aren't getting it until level 9 as a druid, which is 90,000 experience in.

how do I install that BG 2 tweaks on my BG:EE copy? it gives me an error when I hit the setup.exe

I've found the basic form fine for the level you get it.

It means you can invest minimal ability points into strength, dex and con while still being a perfectly effective frontline fighter with self buffing & healing.

The glaring weakness is inability to hit creatures that require magic weapons. In those scenario's I shift back to human form & play caster for a bit.

The advanced form does need to resolve the magic weapon bit; that's at level 13 in BG2 though. Personally I'm not worrying about what will or will not be fixed at that point. Kit is fun in BG1.
