How do I get this to start?

So, I pre-loaded with the Beam Dog client and installed the last tiny bit of the game today. It says "ready to play" next to the game but when I click on it nothing happens. I get the little swirly Windows loading circle next to my pointer for a few seconds, then nothing. I tried opening the folder where the game was installed and starting it there, but the same thing keeps happening. I've signed out and back in to Beam Dog five times now and nothing's changed, how the hell do I get the game to start?

Same thing is happening to me. At least I know that it's not a problem at my end.

<- getting the same problem. Some people suggest "run as administrator" but that didn't help me...

Same here and unfortunately the Event Viewer only shows the generic "Application Error Event ID: 1000" error. No logs to help in Beamdog folders either.

This is pretty annoying given how far this pushed this game back.

I had to launch both the launcher and then manually start baldur.exe in the folder. I also had compatibility set to Vista SP1 and Run as Administrator. It won't work just by doing one. I had to both launch the launcher and then manually launch baldur.exe and it's working consitently.

Open Task Manager (right-click the task bar -> task manager) and check if the Baldur.exe executable is running.
Kill Baldur.exe if it's running and try running the executable from its location on disk instead (go to your install folder, double-click Baldur.exe).
Tell us your PC specs including chipset and graphics card.
Of course, make sure your drivers are up-to-date. Especially the chipset and graphics ones.

I tried all that and it's not working. I feel like an idiot asking this, but where do I find my specs on Windows 7?
