Lonk the Sane doesn't cast spells

Lonk doesn't use any spells if attacked after Spellhold dungeon (when releasing the patients), he just attacks with his fists. It happens only in this encounter, if attacked earlier he used them as normal.

Is this a problem with SCS or base game?

@lolien I am pretty sure that SCS "Sword Coast Stratagems" counts as a mod.

Edit: so to answer the question, it's highly likely a mod problem.
