Blank white screen when starting up

When I launch the game, the screen turns black with a white area in the center. The music plays and the buttons are active in that white box, but nothing is rendered. It stays white even though the app itself seems to be progressing (I heard the cinematic sounds).

I am using integrated Intel HD graphics with the latest drivers. I am aware there are issues with Intel, but in my case it's completely unplayable unless I have a really good imagination and settle for the white square on a black backrgound.

I managed to make a screenshot:

Please advise.

    Hah, I just posted on this very same topic. Damnit. I'm sporting the same integrated chip, probably, but I don't want that to be the copout excuse they give us, so I'll add that I can play Fallout: New Vegas, Skyrim, and a heavily modified version of Baldur's Gate and Baldur's Gate II without any trouble.

    Same exact problem on my laptop using Windows 7. (I have no problems with my main computer using Windows Vista)

    I just found a solution on the known issues thread. Manually add the .exe for the program using the graphics card utility. Mine was a NVidia 525M

    Okay. Fixed it. I opened the Intel and Media Control Panel, clicked 3D, Custom Settings, and changed Anisotropic Filtering to 8x, Vertex Processing to Enable Software Processing, and Vertical Sync to On!

    I managed to fix it by pressing ALT+ENTER to enter the windowed mode and then quitting the game. Next time the game starts, it does so in windowed mode and it works (I see the content, not the white screen)!

    I can then press ALT+ENTER again to enter full screen. The white box does not appear.

    So there it is: start the game in windowed mode and then switch to fullscreen.

    Tried that, now I get half white and half black.

    @arnelism and @wizman4ever

    Between these two I was able to get it working. Thanks
