Launcher won't even launch game

So basically I would double click the launcher button and the window would come up. Everything pre-loaded and ready to go so I hit "play." Nothing. Tried over and over. Now I can't even get the window to launch so I can't even press play at all now. Anyone have a similar problem? And yes I did fiddle around with admin and compatibility settings.

    Same thing happens to me with the beamdog launcher, I press start and nothing happens.

    Load the game using Windows Vista (Service Pack 1) compatibility mode to get it to work. Hope Beamdog fixes this annoying issue. :P

    4 GB Ram

    and same problem. after I click to play button, doesn't work the game, closes BGEE.exe and BGEE the launcher

    You have to change the baldur.exe compatibility to Vista Service Pack 1 like the poster says and mine launches now.

    Well it worked one time like that...now it doesn't work again.

    OK, changed both Launcher and baldur.exe to run as administrator and Vista Service Pack 1. I have to launch the launcher and try hitting the play button. It doesn't start, then I go start baldur.exe myself and it comes up.
