Is there any way to increase the game speed?

The original version of BG had an option in the launcher options where you could increase or decrease the game speed, and I always found it enjoyable to crank the speed up a bit. Does this option still exist somewhere? If so, where? How can I access it?

    I'm looking for the same thing
    you can supposedly change the frame rate number in the baldur.ini
    that is located in c:\Users\\Documents\Baldur's Gate - Enhanced Edition\
    However it doesn't seem to have any effect for me

    I just got a reply in another thread that the frame rate increase is not yet implemented because it caused a load of bugs
