Was the death by mysterious chunking problem ever solved in EET Megamod versions of BG1+SoD?

I remember awhile back certain characters would die permanently for no real reason or least according to these forums, but I don't know if this issue was ever resolved.

If not I was planning on not using EET to avoid that problem.

    If you're talking about the disappearing portrait bug (which strikes all members of a party at once), that has not been solved. The cause was identified, but no fix has yet been found which didn't cause other problems. However, this bug relates to the base game, so there would be no reason to avoid EET if that is the bug that you're referring to.

    Oh it was a Base game issue? That is unfortunate it was never resolved. So this was actually just a original game bug and had nothing to do with installing mods?

    It's a base EE issue and nothing to do with mods.
