Suddenly the toolset has started crashing for NWN:EE

Previously I was able to use it fine but just recently it has become unusable because it crashes constantly. I have uninstalled and re-installed but still no luck. Could a recent windows update have caused this? This is very frustrating as I have been editing a module for some time and now I can't continue. I have 2 laptops and it happens on both of them. Windows 10 btw.

    ok did a totally clean install saving a copy of my work and now it works
