graphic problems - impossible to play

Every new area that I go, everything is already opened. There is no black areas, like in the original BG1. Impossible to know where I need to go to explore. When I enter in inner buildings in Candlekeep, the area start to blink. Then I have to open inventory or another menu, close, and them the blinking stops. And finally, hitting tab does not highlight stuff on the area.
This is very frustating, I'm waiting so long for this game and now it's unplayable.

PS: I'm using win7, 1920x1080.

Exactly same problems I'm having!! Do your characters not have circles under them? Or your portrait doesn't get highlighted why you have a character selected? As well as no markers where your characters are walking to.

I was able to make it through candle keep but exploring any wilderness area without the "fog of war" effect is pretty much impossible

I am curious if anyone's game is working properly. Nothing like Immy getting eaten by a wolf I couldn't see :(

I was having similar problems. Here is what worked for me: go to your video card settings and make sure BGEE is listed as a program that will use your graphics card, rather than your computer's integrated graphics. For some reason, the game does not detect the video card automatically and you need to tell it to use it manually.

As for the markers under the characters, once you do the thing with the video card, make sure you turn up the top slider in "Feedback" menu, which controls the circles you see under characters.

Any tips on exactly how to do this? I have an ATI card, do I use Catalyst Control Centre? Is it something in Windows? I can't see any list of programs anywhere...

Don't be too quick to thank me. I am now encountering another bug where it crashes every time I rest outside... :-(

How do you access those settings? My nvidia setting has no list or anything for choosing a game as a program. only resolution/color changes ets..

On my computer there is a separate program, "NVIDIA Control Panel," which allowed me to change it... I don't think you can make it work just by going to the Windows graphics setting menu from the desktop; you have to use the NVIDIA program.

I really don't wish to be a relentlessly negative forum whiner, but to be honest there are so many reports of so many bugs, crashes and glitches that I think I'm just going to wait for the (hopefully) inevitable massive patch before I try to play this game again. If I fix my immediate problem (the inventory-disappearing-cursor bug) it just feels like I'll have another one before too long (next time I rest outside for instance!).

Really, REALLY don't want to be a moaner, but didn't we wait an extra two months specifically to ensure the product was as good as it could be on release?
