Other Mac users playing NWN: asking for help

The reason for that particular title is that I hoped to draw in the few players on Mac computers. I have a 2014 Mac Mini that not only crashes exiting the Prelude (already reported bug), but I had a transition problem with a mod called Journey into Darkess. I really can't play anything. So I am considering upgrading to a new Mac. I don't have a lot and I don't want a laptop, so it will be an iMac.

I have read about the long wait for any updates so I want to know if I should just wait on this for my Mac Mini or go for it.

The good thing is that I have NWN Diamond Edition as well as NWN2 on my 2011 Toshiba laptop, so no shortage of mods to play.
