Archer Bug ?

in Baldur's Gate: Enhanced Edition
An archer is supposed to get a 1 point Bonus on hit and damage rolls every 3 levels. I'm assuming this will take place at level 1/4/7/10/...
But my archer just reached level 7 but still only has a bonus of 2 on this. Did i just misunderstand the class description or is this a known bug ?

    I think it is 3/6/9/12...

    Do a quick test giving him/her enough XP to reach level 9 and see if the bonus increases to +3.
