Crashes and extreme blurriness

Hi, bought 2 copies and installed one on my desktop (which running fine so far) and one on my husband's laptop...which is essentially unplayable, so please help! I can only get his game to start at ALL by setting the Baldur.exe file compatibility to Vista SP1 and Administrator, it still takes about 8 tries before I get the game instead of the "this program has closed" error. Additionally, when it actually does run, the graphics are blurry and the text is unreadable. If I click anywhere on the screen everything sharpens up for a second, then returns to horrible headache-inducing blur.

Please let me know whatever info I can supply that will be useful to you.

Thanks!

I am not having the crashing issue but I am definately having the same blurriness issue. I found a related issue from http://www.gog.com/forum/baldurs_gate_series/graphics_are_unplayably_muddy/post1 . This is in regards to the unenhanced version of the game. Supposedly there was a problem with ATI's MLAA causing unnecessary blurriness. I went through my nvidia control panel and pretty much disabled every option in the hopes that it would fix this issue, however it did not. So I am at an impasse right now in terms of what to do. I am in the same boat as you, I would love to play the game but I can't due to the fact I don't have a large enough quantity of advil or tylenol around to deal with the headaches.

t would probably help solve the problem if you could post your pc specs, most importantly your graphics card since this appears, at least to me, to be a graphics card related issue. Since I am also having this issue, I will start.

    i7-3610QM
    8GB RAM
nVidia GTX660M/Intel HD4000 (Currently running on forced GTX660M mode due to Intel GPUs just plain sucking)
I should also note I am running the latest nVidia beta drivers 310.64

Ok, someone else in another thread found the solution to the blurriness issue: http://forum.baldursgate.com/discussion/7613/how-to-fix-some-graphical-issues-nvidia

Thanks for your link -- fixed the blur issue! Will post specs once I can get my hands on husband's laptop to see what we can come up with for that game-only-starts-every-1/9000-tries "feature" ;)

    Cheers!
