Party reform question

So when I wanna reform a party, say to tell Khalid and Jaheira to get lost, will they or anyone else stay right where they are forever? Sorry if this is a noob question, I'm really not lol I just usually stick to the same party members ;)

    The original ones will stay where they are. The new ones will tell you where they're going.
