Game does not start

Just finished the download of the game, I click play, nothing happens (the game process does not start up).

WHen I tried to start the game without the launcher, it gives an error about the dll openal32.dll (could not be found).

I'm using Windows 8 64 bits.

I just fixed by installing http://connect.creativelabs.com/openal/Downloads/oalinst.zip

I installed oalinst still nothing. Problem was same as urs.

You could have solved one problem, but other one is on.

Firstly nothing happend. Then I read Your post and installed oalinst. It didnt help. I uninstalled it. Then I read different post which advised to run the game as an admin. I did it and then I had error dll openal32.dll. I installed it again. Still does not work

It doesnt matter if I use launcher or not.

Ok, but after reinstalled oalinst and start the game NOW, without the client, do you got any error?

If you got the same error about openal32.dll, it could be resolved by reinstall again with admin privileges and stuff like that. If you got other error or no error at all, open a new topic/e-mail beamdog support. They responded to me in like 20 minutes yesterday.

win 7 computer - I did install oalinst.zip file like mulder did. That helped me to launch game, but no sound only like some kinda slashing sound, and goes pretty slow to i think. help me

this link fixed my BGEE launcher I deleted open AL not knowing what it was for then realized BGEE no longer would launch.Link fixed problem in seconds thank you

Okay, so I just installed BG: EE and I got the same openAL32.dll problem. I opened this link which you all suggested: http://connect.creativelabs.com/openal/Downloads/oalinst.zip. But it cant find the link: It has this error; Oops! Google Chrome could not find connect.creativelabs.com. I've tried another browser...same thing! Please any suggestions?
