NWN EE Modules not showing up

a couple of months ago I finally made the move from NWN D to NWN EE in order to easily play online with friends returning to the game. Everything went super smoothly on my desktop. I was able to download all the mods and modules I wanted from the steam workshop and they all worked well.
However, I'm on the road this month and I've had tremendous difficulty setting it up on my laptop. Mods work fine, GUI changes, portraits, etc - all worked the first time. However, I haven't been able to successfully download a module yet. I subscribe to them from the steam workshop and they simply don't appear when I run the game.
I've tried restarting my computer and steam, as well as unsubscribing, resubscribing, and installing the modules manually from The Vault, none of it seems to work. I would appreciate any suggestions.
