Ravager TOB 1500 damage

in Baldur's Gate II: Enhanced Edition
After defeating Ravager in the Abysmal Realm my hero takes 1500 damage and dies. I've killed Ravager, all the bone blades are gone, and - bingo - my hero takes 1500 damage. Is it taboo for my character to be in his demonic form when he fights Ravager? Anyone else experience this? Is there a logical explanation or is it a bug?

    Demonic form?
    If you mean the slayer form if you stay transformed too long you take a huge damage and die, maybe this is what happened to your charname.

    At least in an unmodded game the damage amounts happen only once. So you'll get hit by that 1500 damage only one time.

    Wow. I had no idea -- I always assumed it would be a periodic thing or that there would be a real insta-death effect eventually. This... may change some things about my playthroughs.
