Darkness Over Daggerford Edalseye Tower Help (Spoilers?)

in NWN:EE Modules
I'm stuck in the Ice Mephit room. I found the dirt, I plugged the vents, I've lit the pillars, I saw the note on the rope. I just don't have any idea how to get the key. Any help or hints would be greatly appreciated!

    Got past that, but I'm not finding a way into the basement to confront Edalseye.

    Have you gone all the way up the tower, e.g. past the genie? Once you've reached the top successfully, you should be able to use the portals (I think) to make your way back down
