Spell that reflected Scorching Ray back to me

in Baldur's Gate: Siege of Dragonspear
During the siege I used my wand of fire to use scorching ray on some crusaders and sometimes a mage will do something to reflect it back to me. What were they using?

    Minor Spell Turning or Spell Turning, most probably. Secret Word should remove it from them.
