Easy-to-implement subtitles for custom sound sets.

When are we gonna see an easy feature to get custom subtitles for custom sound sets, like literally doing nothing more complicated than dropping a simple text document containing lines of subtitles named as the corresponding sound set into the folder containing the wav files?
When I say easy, I'm talking about an approach pretty much as simple as dropping custom portraits into a folder, and BOOM! Just like that, the portraits are available to use right off the bat. No complications, as long as the portraits conform to the standards.
I've seen different approaches to it, which entails editing God knows what to accomplish it, and that's not easy. That's just plain stupid. I should LITERALLY not have to do anything besides pairing a soundset with a text file to achieve something like this.
