Various Crashes...Enhanced?

So far.... I've gotten a crash when changing soundsets, trying to load a small picture in the large size, walking into a new area, going back into an old area, and clicking a cow. (literally)

I'm a bit confused as to how there's bugs like this in a decade old game that's enhanced?

I like a lot of it, the lack of resolution, zoom....

I'm not sure what I paid for yet, will still keep playing, but so far I don't see much enhanced?

I mean the classic game isn't bad and , but... it's hard to see any noticeable improvements, the portraits and soundsets really not that much...

I'm not sure what I was expecting, but I think a little more... and certainly not crashes every other minute :/

Come through for us, we want this to be successful as fans, so we're not going to throw you under the bus, it's just... crashes on a decade + old game... makes BG3 not look so bright at this moment. :/

I'm a bit confused as to how there's bugs like this in a decade old game that's enhanced?

Gigabytes of scripts and data running into an engine it wasn't design to run in and which was never released into the wild until a few hours ago is a likely explanation.

If you can reproduce any crash please make a bug report about it including your PC specs and steps to reproduce. It seems like the game is extremely unstable on your machine which could be driver related.

True enough, just trying to somewhat constructively vent my frustrations... tis impossible though, being completely cynical and sarcastic...

but if I can retrace my steps or notice a common thread I'll be sure to duplicate them and send it to the powers that BG.

Still... going to hammer it out as best one can before rage quitting :P

    What mostly boggles my mind is that over all the time I've been a beta tester I've experienced just one single crash... and it wasn't even in-game! And it was fixed D;

I understand if people get skeptical but I witnessed beforehand the efficiency of the developers at bug fixing. The fixes WILL come, trust me on that!

LOL maybe they put an old build up. That would be funny

There's so many factors it's hard to replicate so many different machines, so I get that...

It's just the way the game is marketed that makes this a big deal, an enhanced edition shouldn't be this buggy. Enhanced Editions are usually the smooth, polished, and expanded versions of the original game.... where all the kinks should be worked out.

Maybe that's just my two cents on it, but I keep trying to play and something odd will happen like clicking a spell and bam crash. Never seems to be the same thing twice.

Well at least you can get into the game. I can't even get mine to launch.

The problem is with random crashes in the game for some people, those affected are better off sticking with TuTu since at least it won't crash on them constantly.

It seems the EE, which was suppose to include many bug fixes for a more bug free game, instead has added a lot of potential bugs.

    Bug free here! :)

Thats great for you. $20 dollars well spent. For those experiencing bugs however, I fear they will just want a refund and stick with using TuTu.

Never mind TuTu, quite seriously vanilla BG1 out of the box, no TuTu, no patch, no mods, no nothing is currently much more stable and reliable.

I feel like relying sololy on OpenGL was a huge mistake. There really needs to be a directx implementation.

Yeah, that would remove quite a pack of compatibility errors. But the problem is that that could be way too much work, because the whole concept of the engine has again to be changed..

I expect in that Case another Full Download of the Game. And i see no Way how this problem can also be solved with Patches.

Worst Case Scenary which is quite invitable at the moment... There will be a fraction of customers which are ending with a not playable Game without hope for Fixing the Problem :(
