(Xbox One) Question on recharging wands,rods,etc?

I play a shadow dancer who makes use of wands,rods,etc.
I thoought there was a trick where you could sell a nearly depleted wand ot what not and then buy it back fuully charged but that aint worrking am i doing it wrong?

    You could do that trick in the Infinity Engine games like Baldur's Gate etc., but that no longer works in the NWN series. Some modules do have NPCs that can recharge wands and such, but it's specific to those modules.

    Found a wand of sleep...which i nearly depleted and i thought i could do that as i have not seen it for sale anywhere.
