Party AI on Nintendo Switch

Is there any way to adjust or turn off the party AI on Nintendo Switch? 90% of the time it's fine, but on bigger, tougher battles, I'd like my mages to not immediately run into the middle of a melee brawl the moment there's an opportunity to, ha!

I've looked in the gameplay menu as well as poked around the other menus, but with little luck. I've also searched online, with no luck there either. Any help would be appreciated! Besides for this, I am loving playing it on my Switch!
