So yeah... Can i somehow get my money back?

I cant even start it up. I have tried every trick in the book, and every way possible. Nothing. I am pirating the game now, hopefully with better results. Is there a way to get my money back, because those guys don't deserve my money. If you want to earn money you better release a working game. This is the biggest let-down since diablo 3... no, even worse than that.

    Bugs always happen on release day for games and even on patches. Even the supposedly almighty Valve has glitches when they're updating Team Fortress 2. Just be patient.

    I'm sure these guys are sipping caffeine and will be pulling some all nighters until they get this fixed Zumbza. I'm sure there in it for the long run.

    Hi zumbza! Could you give more details as to what issues your having such as screenshots or a detailed description of the steps you've taken so the issue can be resolved, it could well be something simple that can easily be fixed.

    As with a lot of people, when i press "play" on the standalone launcher, nothing happens. I have tried to launch the baldur.exe by itself, with all the compability modes and even tried moving the whole folder. If you think this can be easily solved, whereas i tried all night to get this flab going, be my guest.

    Just like when Steam released in 2003. I was 1 of the many users who started steam when it released. Many many bugs...especially the network made it run horrible. Valve didn't fully patch the network until 2007 - 2008.

    You need to post your computer specs, and exactly what you are doing to run the game?

    Are your drivers up to date?

    Windows firewall running?

    The game works fine for me in the Tutorial. I hadn't tested multiplayer.

    Whoaw. I want my money back for not being able to actual DOWNLOAD the game.

    Windows 7 64-bit
    Have tried HDD and SSD if you wonder.

    NOW tell me what is wrong.

    And you're asking it in a "windows PC support" forum? You should contact customer support about that.. not whine to us.

    If you still want to get the game to work, maybe you check your task manager if there's no duplicate bg processes running.

    It's a shame you feel that way.

    You can be refunded. (read in a different thread) but i do not know the contact.

    I fixed the same issue you were having by setting in vista compatibility mode (SP1) and ticking run as administrator and hitting apply.

    Both BGEE.exe and Baldur.exe in /00766/data/

    I am sorry, didnt want to come out that way.. This thread was mostly a desperate last try to keep me convinced they have earned my money.. And no, it doesnt run in duplicates. It wont start or invisibly crashes just as i start it..

    I wonder how do you expect a fix from pirating the game :D
    Like pirates ever fixed a compatibility problem.

    The idea is paying for a product. You don't get the product. Right now i can't download it. I had two options to do it, one doesn't work for any random reason because it doesn't specify why ( First problem with the followed up Beamdog). Secondly the "only" option valid doesn't download the game.

    I contacted support. And i managed on my own to actually find "solutions" which a temporarly useless but still a step forward to playing the game. I download a friends pre-load file sinc ehe can't get to download that last bit also. My BGEE launcher which crashed now runs fine thx to a fix i found while mingling with options. Result is still the same. I cannot download the game. period. NO explanations what-so-ever. Not even saying if it s due to server overload or my connection being closed etc.

    I m paying for a product which i expect a followed and information regarding all issues and what are there status .

    Did you tried deleting files 766.beam and 766.status from C:\Program Files (x86)\Baldur's Gate Enhanced Edition\Data folder? Make a backup (it's not necesary, the launcher creates that files again, but... to be safe) Delete 'em and open bg:ee launcher again, it takes more minutes to connect but normally it downloads everything till the button play shows up.

    If you press play and nothing happens, maybe it would be a driver issue, vsync and triple buffer on ati cards can produce flickering on main menu so yo can start touching values of your CCC if you have an ati card, if you are under win XP i would try Install Microsoft C++ Redistributable 2008 just like Malavon_despana posted http://forum.baldursgate.com/discussion/7781/possible-fix-for-windows-xp-press-play-but-nothing-happen#latest. Ultimate solution i would try... re-downloading the game and do every step again one by one and test...

    Ok have tried every trick in the book and every way possible too. I cant even start it up. i want get my money back, because those guys don't deserve my money. I have ask BGEE forums and on twitter, nobody answes to my questions.

    Every time after I click to play button, doesn't work the game, closes BGEE.exe and BGEE launcher. And when i click baldur.exe it says "this application has failed to start because the application configuration is incorrect. Reinstalling the application may fix this problem." And reinstalling fix nothing.

    I want my money back.

    You need to remove a couple of the 766 files from the installation directory, reboot your computer then run the game again. I can't remember which files though.

    As ı say, have tried every trick in the book and every way possible.
    My configuration is convenient for the game, but the game doesn't work.
    So i want resolution or date for resolution or information about that the developer working resolution on my problem or my money back.

    If you want your money back then talk to costumer service. Posting in the PC support forum will do nothing to get your refund.

    They're busy supporting everyone who has problems. The game was released less than 24h ago, maybe you could give them some time for responding. In any case, any "money back" requests will surely go to the same queue and if you ask me, support requests should be handled more urgently ;)

    Hey, i got close to your specs and my game run nice and smooth, nor bugs so far. Installed the launcher as admin, and downloaded the game, took like 12 hours tho. Didnt do any other changes, so maybe u should consider updating ur system drivers all around?
