Jaheira Without Khalid? Is this an option?

I'm pottering through the latter stages of a BGEE/SoD came, and am already trying to plot my next one. I've got a good line-up of standard and mod NPCs but I need a decent fighter, but only have space for one more NPC. I really don't want to have to nuke Dynaheir and break poor Minsc's heart. Can I keep Jaheira by herself without having to recruit Khalid when we get to Boareskyre?

For those who already know me I've been away from these boards and from gaming for ages due to health issues, so I'm new to SoD.

As long as you don't put them both in the party at the same time. They become paired as soon as that happens.

Thanks muchly. I desperately needed a fighter who can use potions, and who doesn't appear so late in the game.
