Screen flickers in fullscreen

I am running this game on Win XP, possibly has nothing to do with it, but I get screen flickering in fullscreen, windowed mode is apparently fine. I also have ATI card and so far game has not crashed after character creation.

What's your system specs? Also are the drivers up to date for your card? I have an 6900, works fine. Though even if you have the same card as me I understand it still might not work.

Try to turn off v-sync and triple buffering in Catalyst Control Center.

Game crashed at some point when I was stepping out from house before going away from Candlekeep.

Win XP Home Edition service pack 3
    Intel Core2 duo CPU E6750 @ 2.66 GHz
    3072 MB RAM
    ATI Radeon HD 5800
    Direct X 9.0c

I am not sure if my ATI drivers are up to date.

Turn off V-sync and Triple Buffering in your graphic card controls. The flickering went away as soon as I did this. I hope they fix it though because my other games use this.

All of the BG games seem to have an issue with V-sync/Triple Buffering. It's probably a conflict with the engine and probably not going to be fixed.

But if you're using an Nvidia card, you can manually turn it off for this game only.

    1. Go to Manage 3D Settings (from the list on the left side) in Nvidia Control Panel
    2. Select Program Settings Tab on the right window
    3. Add baldur.exe from "C:\Program Files (x86)\Baldur's Gate Enhanced Edition\Data\00766" directory (or wherever you installed it)
    4. Manually disable v-sync and triple buffering.
    5. Accept and you're done

Haven't owned an ATI/AMD card in a while, but I'm sure they have something similar with their control panel as well.
