Ranged esponja for Zerk/Thief

Hello friends. Could someone tell me if it pays to place points of proficiency in ranged attack weapons for a dualized Berserker to Thief? If so, what weapons should I choose?

One point in longbows can't hurt. You won't be able to specialize in them, of course, but you still get two shots per round with a bow and some composite longbows are pretty good, from a damage point of view.

as a Berserker, you’re limited to 1 pip in ranged weapons (bows, crossbows, darts, slings).

BUT, you can still put up to 5 points in daggers or axes, and use the ranged versions of those weapons. Plus they both benefit from added STR modifier, which makes them quite damaging.
Daggers have 2 base APR, plus your fighter+proficiency bonus, so an interesting choice (plus, the returning daggers in BG2 have 2d4 base damage instead of the regular 1d4 from normal daggers, making them comparable to throwing axes damagewise)
Throwing axes are a bit more damaging than regular throwing daggers, but have 1 less attack per round. There are more returning axes, some even available since BG1 for easier inventory management (and enchantment too)

If you are looking for versality and special ranged ammunition though, you are better off with bows (elemental arrows, dispelling arrows, arrows of detonation etc.) or even darts (elemental, stunning or poison darts).
