How do you add doors to area maps?

In the area North of Nashkel there's this cave with no entrance. Scrounging around through the area maps in NI there's an unused area map (AR1010) that was initially meant to be the exit for the Ice Island Cave filled to the brim with winter wolves!
After removing the mage associated with the Ice Island Quest it'd be great to link the unused map to the unused cave! Seeing how the vendor in Nashkel collects winter wolf pelts & the NPC Lord Foreshadow speaks about Never"winter" it feels fitting to dedicate that area to the Winterwolves, a very under represented creature in the series.
How can the two areas be linked together?
