Question regarding BGEE:SOD

Hi,

Does Mac version of BGEE:SOD (I mean other than the AppStore version) contain another executable or in the basically a big "mod". Basically I want to know if I buy a copy of BGEE:SOD from BeamDog, can I then "Patch" my version Mac App Store version of BG:EE?
