NWN:EE Multiplayer LAN Game Does Not Save

Hello,
I'm having a frustrating issue with a LAN game of NWN:EE. I don't know if it's user error or something else...
Two of us are playing a LAN game of the standard NWN campaign. Our first session, we played from the Prologue to about halfway through the Chapter 1 module. At that point we saved and quit.
When we tried to load the game, there was no associated save file, both characters had reverted to level 1, and had no equipment.
Bravely proceeding, we started over again, this time about a quarter of the way through Chapter 1. We made sure to save the game and the characters. When we tried to load this game, there was once again no associated save. The characters, their XP, and their inventory did save (although quest progress did not), meaning we're faced with restarting the campaign for a third time.
Has anyone else had this issue? And if so, do they know what is going wrong?
