Fighter weapon choices in SOD-only game

in Baldur's Gate: Siege of Dragonspear
Hi All. I’m thinking of doing a SOD-only run with a single class fighter and am not sure which weapon to focus on. I’m torn between morningstars, warhammers and axes, but can’t decide on which one of the three to try.

Any ideas, based on the nature of these weapons in SOD? Cheers

    There's an...interesting warhammer in SoD. Its quite powerful but has a pretty unique drawback. You'll know it when you see it. I don't recall what morningstars or axes are in the game.

    Yeah, war hammers are faster than the other two generally, so I’ll give it a try. Thanks!
