Happy International Nurses’ Day to everyone, and especially all nurses, doctors, staff and carers of all types, whether in private or public healthcare, and whether paid or volunteer, in every country and community. This includes a close relative of mine who is a paediatric nurse (have a nice day Zoe :) )

This year and day also represents the 200th anniversary of Florence Nightingale’s birth. Florence was one of the world’s most famous nurses, whose legacy is often symbolised by a lone light or lamp in darkness.
