Menu "to the right of your character" is not there on Android

Brand new to NWN so maybe I'm doing it wrong but I'm following the tutorial and there's no menu items to the right of the character portrait. Just black. The view modes, spells, and inventory don't seem to be accessible. Is there some GUI setting I need to adjust? This is on an Android 10 device.

    On Android, those buttons are along the bottom of the screen, on a toggle with the chat window.
