Need Help with Game, New issue?

Ok Ive pre-loaded and run the game successfully no worries.
However as soon as I enter the actual baldurs gate program to its menu. It flashes violently enough to give a seizure. I went to the pre-load characters and noticed the game ran fine when in gameplay however the bar below where the history/conversation text is also shaking violently. There is something wrong and I cant figure it out.
Ive tried going through permissions and running through other means and still the problem persists. The intro clip I should mention ran normally when I pressed the game.
Would appreciate some assistance, Drivers all up to date and run a mid-high end machine.
