Strength modifier not being applied to throwing dagger?

in General Discussion (Spoiler Warning!)
Hi, I am currently in Siege of Dragonspear, my mage/thief has 19 strength and does 9-16 damage with the dagger of venom, I am getting a big damage increase from my strength. When I switch to a returning throwing dagger +1 it shows 2-5 damage. I thought strength added damage to throwing daggers?

Can someone help me understand better. Thanks!

    Throwing daggers do add strength damage in general, yes - but it's a specific flag on the item's attack ability. Maybe that particular item is flagged wrong?

    Interesting... It is a returning throwing dagger +1 from SoD. But it does look like one of those returning darts, which is interesting...
