Hilarious bug with Ike

My party finished up Durlag's Tower this afternoon, and for giggles, I decided to see if the long-standing bug with Ike had been fixed. I paid for a tower of the now completely safe, de-trapped tower to see what would happen.
Ike still goes through his spiel, even though the DK is dead and can't show up. Instead, he just stands there, frozen, while the remaining two yokels wander about aimlessly.
I feel like Ike should be disabled once you kill the DK, or at least not act like he sees him in the tower if the DK is dead. Still, it gets him out of Ulgoth's Beard, so perhaps that's a worthy enough reason to leave it borked.
