Random encounter "stuck in Candlekeep"

in Baldur's Gate: Enhanced Edition
Haven't seen this before. Playing multiplayer we got a random encounter. Did something stupid after that and loaded autosave and basically got softlocked.

The game for some reason is telling us that we're in Candlekeep and thus claims all destinations to be unreachable.

    Also for the record we just loaded an older save so that's solved. Just thought I'd report this issue as I've never heard of it before.
    We were traveling from High Hedge to the map south of Candlekeep in a 2 player game and got a random encounter with a Ghast in case any of those details come in handy.
