I can't' use the sensory stones?

in Planescape: Torment: Enhanced Edition
Whenever I click on a sensory stone, the only option I'm given is "leave". Is there something I'm missing? I've found no indication of needing to do anything special to be able to use the stones.

Please help :(

    You have to talk to one of the sensate guides first, since every stone contains more than one sensory experience.
