NPCs were do they go.

When i remove an NPC from my party were do they go ? All to the Friendly arm ?

Is there a overview of that somewhere ? That hopefully also includes the new toons :)

I haven't removed anybody yet, but in the original I remember them staying where I left them

Just removed Imoen form my party to get Viconia. She just stays at the spot you left her. I wish Beamdog would've updated the system to BGII standards where you can tell a NPC to wait for you at the Copper Coronet.

Some stay where you remove them, some go somewhere specific, others vanish never to be seen again.

Which ones do which, or is it inconsistent?

To be on the safe side always reserve one open spot in your group till you really need/want that 6th partymember. Get any new NPC, go with them to the FA (or whatever place you choose) and leave them there so you can get them later on. Oh and save before you kick them!

Minsc, Jaheira, Imoen, and Edwin, are the only 4 that live through and are also joinable in BG2. If you want to finish with the canon party, that would be Imoen, Jaheira, Khalid, Minsc, and Dynaheir.

Edit: Dunno how I forgot about Viconia...especially considering I am playing a BG2 game with her in my party right now.

Viconia is in BG2 as well....... She is my favorite. She may be evil, but she has 50% magic resistance-which makes her the best NPC imo.

Old NPCs stay where you left them. Rasaad goes to Nashkel. Neera and Dorn go to the Friendly Arm Inn.

[Viconia] She won't always be evil though depending on your choices in Throne of Bhaal.

I have never had Dynaheir in my party. Is she any good?

I am primarily going to use Minsc, Jaheira, Imoen and Viconia. And then try out some of the new toons for fun

@Darthchair - Shes a decent mage , not great , but ok , Her specialist school isn't great , she is a Invoker and she is the only good-aligned mage in game , well i dont have the EE yet so i dont know about the new wild mage girl , so , shes a ok mage , but Edwin is alot better.

yeah, but it would be a loooooong time before you see them again if they did that :)

They wanted to do that, but weren't allowed to make that change due to contract limitations.

I think @Steezy probably meant that the NPCs would wait at some fixed point somewhere in the game, such as the Friendly Arm Inn, for example, and just mentioned the Copper Coronet as an example of a place where NPCs wait in BG2.

Of course, it could be really nice if you could get BG1 NPCs to wait for you in the actual Copper Coronet, because then you could get the ones that don't exist in that game to travel there and actually be usable. You could also get them to carry inventory items with them that you could get back when they join back in. It's an interesting idea...
