Sod leveling/chapter

Im in my first play thru of Sod, but im hitting the exp cap before chapter 11 and the "Dragonspear Castle Assault" whit my hole company (6).

i wounder if thats common?

My progress looks like this
start 8: 195287 exp
start 9: 263739 exp
start 10: 350211 exp
start 11: 512229 exp (hit the cap before numbers from EE)

    Not sure how you are doing it but you're gaining about 25k more than I am during ch8. Are you spending time getting xp on the Fire salamanders that regenerate from the portal.
