Issue with gnomes wisdom in character creation?

According to description gnomes take a -1 hit to wisdom which should be 17 max but the game is not allowing me to go over 16?

Am I missing something or is this incorrect?

Same here, looks like a bug, you should report it.

    That's worrying, if true...

Tested all the other races with stat bonuses/penalties and all other cases work fine, gnome seems to be the only one where its incorrect.

Thanks, is a shame as was planning on taking a Gnome cleric/thief on a parallel play-through (am going to play a elf fighter/mage for my main game, once I can get it to work properly...)

Yeah I was looking at Cleric/thief too - already have a half-orc but wanted to look at gnome as well before choosing between the two.

That true in the 3th edition (-2), but not in the 2th.

That true in the 3th edition (-2), but not in the 2th.

Actually Gnomes got a +2 constitution and a -2 strength in 3rd edition. Completely different bonus and penalty from 2nd.

Well you can always go half-orc instead of gnome which is a very powerful option - (and the only other race that can multi cleric/thief)

Even if you do go with the gnome with 3 tomes of wisdom available 16 starting wisdom doesn't gimp you much -
