Weird HP Bonus from Familiar

Hi Guys i have a Question about the HP gain of Familiars. A Familiar has 12 HP right and normally you get half the HP from the Familiar added to your Characters Health Points right? For some reason my Level 6 Sorcerer goes from 36 HP to 56 HP after using the Find Familiar Scroll. Is that a bug or does it have something to do with my Mod Setup? I will provide my Weidu Log and some Screenshots. I hope you can answer me :grinning:

I think it might have something to do with that CDTWEAKS Component???

    That does sound like a mod issue. You could double-check your familiar's HPs by using ctrl+M while the cursor is above it, but I imagine it has 40 and you're getting the normal half of that.

    @Grond0

    Thank you very much for the Help :)
    I never knew that Shortcut. You learn something new about BG even after all these Years playing.

    You are right. It has indeed 40 HP which is really odd. I think it might really be the CDTWEAKS Component. Makes the most sense in my mind. Hmm i don't think that was intented though :o

    The fairy dragon has 5 HD of the "wyvern" monster class. Looking up the component's script, all such nonstandard classes get d8 hit points at all levels. And there are no exclusions; it affects all creatures. Hit points are increased if the new value is higher or left alone otherwise. For creatures that start at less than full HP, current HP are scaled to the same percentage as before.

    New familiar HP with that component:

    Pseudo Dragon: 24 in BG1, 24 in BG2, 64 in ToB.
    Fairy Dragon: 40 in BG1, 40 in BG2, 64 in ToB.
    Ferret: 15 in BG1, 24 in BG2, 48 in ToB.
    Rabbit: 18 in BG1, 24 in BG2, 48 in ToB.
    Cat: 18 in BG1, 24 in BG2, 48 in ToB.
    Imp: 56 in BG1, 56 in BG2, 64 in ToB.
    Dust Mephit: 24 in BG1, 24 in BG2, 64 in ToB.
    Quasit: 24 in BG1, 24 in BG2, 64 in ToB.

    The neutral animals aren't changed much at all, while fairy dragons and imps get huge bonuses. Recall that imps actually have lower HP than the other familiars in the base game...

    Incidentally, there's also a minimum HP level enforced by the game engine. No creature can ever have a maximum of less than one HP per level, after all modifiers. For example, Sanik is a level 16 mage with 1/1 HP in the game files, but that becomes 1/16 HP the moment he's loaded in.

    @jmerry

    Thank you that's very insightfull :o

    The Compenent let you Choose between three Options:
    1. Adjust HP of all Creatures ingame
    2. Adjust only the HP of non-joinable-NPCs
    3. Adjust only the HP of Joinable NPCs

    Originally i installed the Component to make the Game a bit harder but a Buff of 20 HP for any type of Spellcaster is a bit to much in my Opinion considering at the Start of BG2 i could get an even bigger HP Boost when i would use another Scroll.

    Also the Max HP Rats from the Quest in the Prologue really reminds me about LOB Difficulty.

    Erghh. At least i wasn't that far into the Game. Time for another Re-Install i guess :(

    Thank you very much for your Help. I try since months to find the Perfect Mod Setup for my Needs. Getting closer though ;)
