Starting HoF. From Scratch or imported characters

How are you supposed to play on HoF Mode. Is it expecting you to import characters from a completed game or just start from scratch as per usual.

I've tried starting from scratch but am just getting wiped out by the winter wolf or the goblins in Easthaven

    Yes, it's designed for characters from a completed campaign.

    to play HoF mode as intended you want to start with a group that is at least around level 10 or 11 and to have appropriate gear for that level

    I played a lot solo HoF from scratch with almost all classes. The beginning is very difficult without monster convoking. B)
