Druid shifter question

I was just wondering if taking 1 level of shifter is worth it for any reason? My plan is 28 druid 1 monk 1 shifter. Does that help dragon shape or elemental shapes in any way?

    Yes you will get +4DC and some extra dmg with dragon breath.

    It's a shame the Shifter isn't more appealing.
    The idea of shifting forms is interesting but I only did it once and quickly lost interest.

    The Druid spells are far more effective.

    A Druid/Monk is awesome, I loved Shifting to a Earth Elemental and crushing skulls wth flurry of blows.

    The Avenger Druid in BG 1&2 I enjoyed, you get some extra spells, some extra forms and lose 2 Con and STR which don't really matter too much.
